6 Fun Facts to Love about African Grandparents

African grandparents might bemoan their loss of strength, but they are proudly taking responsibilities in other areas. Here are some interesting things to love and appreciate about them.

Strong Work Ethics

Ever wondered how mum and dad turned out the way they did? A typical African Grandparent believes that hard work is the key to success. So regardless of whether it’s school work or house chores, you can be sure that if Grandma is anywhere around you, she will lovingly give you the boot to get you cracking. There’s no lazing around when grandma’s home.

Faith Champions

They are always the power houses behind their families. They are the ones we turn to when life throws us curve balls. They are the prayer warriors, counselors, encouragers, disciplinarians.etc. Nobody does it better than an African grandparent. Much love to all African grandparents out there who have become solid support systems.

Importance of Respect

African Grandparents understand the importance of respect in whatever society you find yourself and are happy to lovingly teach you what respect is. They might seem strict but their hearts are in the right place.

Culture and Heritage

Have you ever felt the need to know more about your heritage but mum and dad are too busy with work? Fear not, you have Grandpa and Grandma to the rescue. African Grandparents would lovingly teach you about your culture and heritage as they want you to always  be proud of who you are and where you come from.

The Best Cooks

African Grandmas can cook up a storm with their ancient secret recipes. There’s always a possibility of being overfed when you stay with them.

Cheerleaders

While it is indeed true that  your parents are your numero uno fans, African grandparents are strong contenders for that title. They will always be there to support you, through thick and thin.
